This is my latest original song about a young man who was killed by ICE agents one year before the death of Renee Good. Ruben Ray Martinez was on his way home when ICE agents shot bullets into his car during a chaotic traffic situation caused by the agents on a busy highway near El Paso, Texas. Ruben was not a protester. He was an American citizen out celebrating his twenty-third birthday with his friend. In the past few years during Trump’s presidency, over fifty people have died in ICE detention centers and on the road in ICE raids. This song is about one the first victims of the senseless violence inflicted on people of color by Trump’s immigration agents.
